In honor of today being the release of Princess Diaries X: Forever Princess, I decided to review The Princess Diaries Series by Meg Cabot.
About the Books: Ok, so I'm sure most readers or movie viewers have heard of The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot. The first one was made into a movie starring Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway.
The books tell the story of Mia Thermopolis who finds out that she is the heir to Genovia, and therefore a Princess. Not only does she have to take princess lessons from Grandmere, who is not a fun or entertaining teacher, but she still has to finish high school! Plus, there's this crush she has on Michael, her best friend's brother. Each book is told in diary format and tells about Mia's life in high school.
GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: I love this series and I love reading books written by Meg Cabot. She is the queen of teen chick lit!! One of the things I love so much about this series is that even though Mia is a princess, she still a regular teen and a geek at heart. Plus, I can't help but squeel with girly happiness and giggle throughout all of Mia's fun. Meg Cabot's captures the perfect teenage voice. Mia always remains relateable and believeable and she matures throughout the series. The Mia in Forever Princess is a more grown up Mia than we see in The Princess Diaries.
I was sad when I finished Forever Princess and will miss reading about Mia. I'm hoping that Meg Cabot writes about some of Mia's adventures after college.
Readers who read Forever Princess might also be interested in reading Ransom My Heart, a book written by Mia and Meg Cabot.

I actually didn't like this series after the 3rd book-they just bored me. That still doesn't mean that I'm not going to keep reading!
ReplyDeletePS. I love the newer covers, don't you?
I agree-I love the new covers! I listened to about half of the books on CD and the other ones I read. I liked the later ones best because it seemed more things were happening/changing and the story got better.
