About the Book: Quinn is an indie music girl who is spending her summer in Austin, TX interning at her favorite indie music label and searching for her perfect summer fling. In her mind her perfect fling is a music guy, he's hip, cute, and fits Quinn's cool indie lifestyle. So why can't she stop thinking about the cowboy frat boy next door?

GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: I read this one as part of the 48 Hour Book Challenge. I thought it would be a quick read, which it was, but I found myself taking it slower because I didn't want it to end. I LOVED it! I've been in a reading slump the last week or so and Melissa Walker helped me get out of it and find a book where I was totally drawn in.

Quinn is great-she's this cool indie music girl, and I could totally relate to her. I wanted to be the indie music girl in college (my undergrad degree is actually in Communications/Radio) and I spent a semester studying music biz on Martha's Vineyard. I was pulled back to my college years of concerts, music conversations and crushes on indie music band boys. The thing I loved about Quinn is that she is kind of girlie-even if she doesn't want to admit it. :)

And then there's Russ-sigh. So cute, so funny, and totally crush worthy! All the supporting characters had depth and were interesting and I felt like I really got to know everyone, which I really enjoyed.

The cover may look like a typical chick lit romance, but this has so much more. Yes, it's a romance, but even if you usually snub romance, I would suggest picking this one up. It's more a story of Quinn, her crazy summer, what she learns about people and there just happens to be some very hot boys! It's the perfect book to kick off your summer. I will definitely be re-reading this one.

  1. I just bought this one from Amazon recently and I really hope to read it soon, as it DOES seem like the perfect book for summer. I'm such a music lover, so it really jumped out at me for that one!

  2. Yay, a new book to buy with payday this week. And it's paperback, even better. Sounds like a fab summer read.

I am unfortuantely not going to ALA this summer. My library was already pretty set on who was going and who was not when I came in, in February. But I'm sure it's going to be great and you'll probably get a chance to get many ARCs, lucky lady!

13 District Mockingjay Tour: District 4

Hello and welcome to District Four. I'm sorry that Finnick isn't here to be your host. I know as a member of District Four I should be cheering for my own tribute, but after watching the last two Hunger Games play out I have fallen in love with Peeta Mellark! Why do I love Peeta? He's smart, he's funny, and he's charming. He stands up for what he believes, he's loyal and he's not afraid to do what's right. He's sensitive and caring but can also be strong and kick butt. He fights for Katniss and with Katniss. Peeta is a great diplomat and he knows how to bring people together. He can also be sneaky to get what he wants. Plus, did I mention he can bake? And he's hot!! But it's not just me! We have an underground club of sorts here in District Four-Seafaring Librarians for Peeta! Here's what some of our members had to say about their love for Peeta: - Team Peeta!! I love their relationship because they balance each other perfectly. Where
