I Finally Did It-Pink Hair!

So, I've been wanting to get pink hair ever since I was little and rented the Mario Paint game and there was a girl with pink hair. But growing up I wasn't allowed to dye my hair crazy colors and I never knew how well it would since I have very dark hair.
But I found out this year that there was nothing in the library policy about hair color, so I decided to ask my friend who's also my hair stylist to help me go pink. I thought it would be a great way to stand out during my Summer Reading Program school visits-and so far all the teens have loved it so I think it's a success! So I had to share my new pink hair! (Aren't teen librarians so cool?)

I'm planning on keeping it for awhile, so if you're at ALA, you can find me-I'll be the girl with the pink streaks in her hair!:)

  3. I love the contrast between your dark hair and the pink! It's so funny that you did this because I have always wanted to do a streak of bright pink or turquoise in my hair, but I have medium brown curly hair. I just don't think the curly just doesn't really work with a bright streak. Makes me sad.

  11. I love it and plan on having something similar done this summer! As a teacher I want to do it, but I don't want to freak out all my parents (or students too!)

  12. That looks fabulous! I did something similar a few months ago and loved it, but my blue streaks faded so quickly. I was thinking of doing pink next year though, and your pics only make me more convinced!

Congrats on taking the pink plunge!

  13. It looks great on you! I'm a little old at 49, but otherwise I might go in for turquoise....I have dark hair like you but now I have "natural" streaks (of gray!)

  20. That is too cool! I am very envious! I think our library does have a policy regarding hair color--has to be a natural color, but that is great. I bet your teens love it!

  23. NICE! I always envied the girl in college with the hot pink pixie cut. And I was going to dye my hair blue for high school graduation, but they told me I couldn't give my speech if I did. *ahem*

  24. I love it! That is a great shade too. And you look so adorable!

  25. One of the happiest days of my life was the day I discovered a job that didn't care what my hair colour was! So I have been black, purple and pink for the last 5 years and I don't think I'll ever stop! (Some times I opt for the red over pink but then switch it up). I don't know why hair colour makes me so happy - maybe because I always wanted to be one of Jem and the Holograms. ;)

The hair looks VERY cool! If I were a teen coming into the library I would want that hair!

  26. WOW, that's a lot of comments.
    Anyway.
WIN. I love your hair. You look fantabulous.
I now want colored hair. If only my mother would approve...

13 District Mockingjay Tour: District 4

Hello and welcome to District Four. I'm sorry that Finnick isn't here to be your host. I know as a member of District Four I should be cheering for my own tribute, but after watching the last two Hunger Games play out I have fallen in love with Peeta Mellark! Why do I love Peeta? He's smart, he's funny, and he's charming. He stands up for what he believes, he's loyal and he's not afraid to do what's right. He's sensitive and caring but can also be strong and kick butt. He fights for Katniss and with Katniss. Peeta is a great diplomat and he knows how to bring people together. He can also be sneaky to get what he wants. Plus, did I mention he can bake? And he's hot!! But it's not just me! We have an underground club of sorts here in District Four-Seafaring Librarians for Peeta! Here's what some of our members had to say about their love for Peeta: - Team Peeta!! I love their relationship because they balance each other perfectly. Where
