Waiting On Wednesday: ALA Edition

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

With ALA coming up, I thought I'd share some of my wish list!

Crave by Laura J. Burns and Melinda Metz-I loved, loved, loved Melinda Metz's books as a teen, so I was thrilled she had a new book coming out! I've only been checking Amazon obsessively for the last ten years!! I have no idea if this book will even be there-I'm just keeping my fingers crossed!

The Ring of Solomon by Jonathan Stroud-the newest Bartimaeus book (no final cover art yet). This is my husband's top pick for ALA. He's not as excited about the conference as I am, although he'll go and help carry my books. So if he could get his hands on this one, it would make the trip worth it!

A lot of my other wist list I've done WOW's on before, so I'm listing the titles mostly so I can remember them all!

Matched by Ally Condie (she's there signing-can't wait)
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly (finally she writes another YA)
Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen (I loved The Luxe series, so I'm eager to read this one)
I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (I'm intrigued by the plot for this one)
Grace by Elizabeth Scott (she's also signing-yay)
Gaurdian of the Gate by Michelle Zink (can't wait to find out what happens in this series!)

If you're going to ALA, what's on your wish list?

  1. Matched and Revolution do sound amazing. I'll be extremely jealous when you get them and yet totally pumped to hear what you think of them.

  2. When I was at BEA they said no full ARCs being printed for Bright Young Things. I was sad. :( Maybe ALA will have the sampler they gave out at BEA.

  5. Yup, I was gonna say what Rebecca already said - I asked my contact at Harper about full ARCs of Bright Young Things and she said they're not doing 'em.

Looks like a great list, though! I'm jealous of your ALA trip! Maybe someday I'll get to go again... Have fun!

Today I'm over at the ALSC Blog talking about some of my new favorite bedtime-themed books!

13 District Mockingjay Tour: District 4

Hello and welcome to District Four. I'm sorry that Finnick isn't here to be your host. I know as a member of District Four I should be cheering for my own tribute, but after watching the last two Hunger Games play out I have fallen in love with Peeta Mellark! Why do I love Peeta? He's smart, he's funny, and he's charming. He stands up for what he believes, he's loyal and he's not afraid to do what's right. He's sensitive and caring but can also be strong and kick butt. He fights for Katniss and with Katniss. Peeta is a great diplomat and he knows how to bring people together. He can also be sneaky to get what he wants. Plus, did I mention he can bake? And he's hot!! But it's not just me! We have an underground club of sorts here in District Four-Seafaring Librarians for Peeta! Here's what some of our members had to say about their love for Peeta: - Team Peeta!! I love their relationship because they balance each other perfectly. Where
