I have more good news to share!! I have accepted a position at my library as the Youth Services Department Manager. This is a new direction for my library to have children and teen under one department umbrella and I'm super excited to be part of it. (So for those of you who have libraries that use this model, let me know-I'd love to ask you lots of questions!!)
What does this mean for my blog? Well, I'll still be serving tweens and teens, so no change there to what I'll be reading and reviewing. The biggest change I'm thinking about is adding picture book reviews and maybe including younger kids programs and tween programs when I post about program ideas. Yay or nay on those ideas?
Yep, it's been an exciting few days in GreenBeanTeenQueen-land!:)
Congratulations!! That is how my library is organized too. Definitely share program ideas because I'm always looking for fun children's ideas.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! I definitely think you should post ideas for younger children's programs and picture book reviews! I know I would enjoy it...but maybe I'm just looking for some fun ideas. ;-)
ReplyDeleteDude, I'm just glad I won't have to grovel at your knees to beg you to stay at TLC. My pants would get dirty.
ReplyDelete"Yay!" said the picture book author.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What a big week for you.

Congrats on the more good news! And definitely a yay for program ideas and picture books.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, how exciting!! I'd love to read about more programming and picture book reviews.
ReplyDeleteWahoo! Congrats! That is how our library is organized as well, so I am totally for hearing all kinds of program ideas and picture book reviews!
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome!!!! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteAt our small/medium library, I am Youth Services. That means I serve all kids, from age 0 to age 17 (or twelfth grade, take your pick). So, I would really appreciate reviews and program ideas for the younger set, too!
ReplyDeleteYAY! You know that I'm in the same boat as you now, where I serve all ages (0-18) -- so I would definitely appreciate seeing your programming ideas!
ReplyDeleteCongrats...that would be my dream job! (I teach 5th grade Lang. Arts in a public school.) I say "yay" to including pic books, etc. I use a lot of those for mentor texts for writing and really, my students love them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful news, indeed! Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeletewell you are just on a roll:)

Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteMy library functions this way as well. We have 1 teen librarian and her helper (ME!) mixed in with the YSers.
And programming ideas are ALWAYS appreciated.
Congratulation! I am the librarian for children and teens at my library. It would definitely be cool if you posted about programs you do.
ReplyDeleteSorry so late in commenting here, but congrats on this exciting new position! It sounds perfect for you. Will look forward to hearing how you enjoy it as you settle in!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so late in my congratulations, Sarah! This is fantastic news and so well-deserved!!!
ReplyDeletePicture books coming your way... 8-)
