So my awesome friends, the ILOAS-Abby , Drea, Katie, Angie, and Kelly and I have decided to have a read-a-thon next weekend. Summer Reading Program is over, my work on my state book award committee is finished and I have a break before I start my next committee assignment and a reading marathon sounds wonderfull. So I'm looking to you, my fabulous blog friends and fellow readers for suggestions. What are the must reads I have to get my hands on during my reading break?

ReplyDeleteI think you've already read ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS, but you've got to read LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR too - I'm such a Stephanie Perkins groupie. And if you haven't read Gayle Forman's IF I STAY and WHERE SHE WENT yet, then both are a *must*.

I agree with Kristen, Ruby Red is a must. I just finished it moments ago, and I can't wait to read the next book.

You've probably already read Supernaturally by Kiersten White. If not, I suggest that. Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes by Jonathan Auxier is on my TBR list along with Anya's Ghost by Vera Brosgol and The Ogre of Oglefort

I know you've already read it, but if you are getting together with your group, try reading chapters from Scieszka's KNUCKLEHAD aloud to each other, especially the road trip barf disaster chapter.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm reading Love, Stargirl and The Dirty Life (memoir of a Harvard grad who reluctantly became a farmer working with draft horses, milking cows by hand, doing things the old-fashioned way, basically, and learning as she went along), and both are excellent! Oh, and anything by E. Lockhart is usually a winner for me, too :)

Dead Rules by Randy Russell...haven't started it yet, but have heard good things.
Belly Up by Stewart Gibbs...a middle grade mystery. The cover led me to check it out, and it looks to be pretty funny.
